ANSON-ROA A SURE WINNER-EX-SENATOR ESTRADA-KALAW
April 3, 2004
Although a newcomer in politics, KNP senatorial candidate Boots Anson-Roa is a sure winner and could even make it to the top five in the forthcoming May 10 elections.

Former Senator Eva Estrada-Kalaw made this forecast before movie personalities, their relatives and friends of Anson-Roa who is running for the Senate under the ticket of KNP presidential standard bearer Fernando Poe Jr. and his running mate, Senator Loren Legarda.

The occasion was a "salu-salo" titled "An event with friends of Boots Anson-Roa" held at the Mowelfund compound.

"I am very sure that Boots will hit at least No. 5 in the magic 12, the place that I got when I ran for the Senate," said Estrada-Kalaw, who vigorously endorsed Boots' candidacy and called on the people to support her.

The former senator said she was a novice then in politics, like Anson-Roa now, when she ran for the Senate some years ago.

Estrada-Kalaw said Boots' main assets as a candidate are her talent, intelligence, sincerity and above all, her abiding concern for the well-being of the people.

"Boots need not only financial but also moral support of her friends and the people to whom she has pledged selfless service and dedication to their welfare," the former senator said.

She added: "Let us boost her morale in order to enhance her fighting spirit in defending the poor."

Anson-Roa had served as former press attache at the Philippine Embassy in Washington D. C., as member of the Population Commission, as president of IBC-13, and in other capacities in the private sector.

"Boots had served unselfishly for the people. I believe the people recognize her selfless public service and will reward her correspondingly by voting for her in the May 10 polls," Estrada-Kalaw remarked.
